They are active and enthusiastic about the Requena /Utiel region and it shows in this offering. Casa de las Viñas is not a distant corporate listing but has been a labor of love. Tony and Carolyn are accessible and can advise your every concern. One more thing...the accommodation is clean, comfortable and combines traditional charm and modern conveniences. Lovely accommodation in a quiet village in rural Spain. The proximity of Utiel and Requena with all the shops and restaurants was great. We particularly enjoyed going out cycling through the quiet countryside roads which took us through the vineyards and mountains as well as being able to buy some really decent wines from local producers. A great place to stay with family and friends, if you want a traditional Spanish holiday and still close enough to explore Valencia or have the odd day on the beach.

We originally booked for the cycling, which is great! Quiet roads with good surfaces. Plenty of variation too, through vineyards, small villages and towns. Nice climbing - not the Alps or Pyrenees but much more accessible for most. The house is in a small village and has a nice courtyard to sit and relax after a day in the saddle. It is well fitted with everything you need. Great local wine and food is always a bonus and there are plenty of options - I can recommend the local town of Requena with its market and restaurants. Requena old town is lovely to stroll though and take in the history. Walking distance from the house is a vineyard that offers tasting and food - excellent! Walking is also good you can wander through the vineyards or along the streams - too much to see in the week we visited - so we will have to come back!
